The significance of vitamins

Organic compounds are needed by our body in the form of vitamins. Some of the vitamins are prepared by our own body and some need to be taken in diet. There is also deficiency of vitamins when our body and diet fails to fulfill the required vitamins. There are two types of vitamin deficiency: primary and secondary. Primary deficiency is when an individual fails to get enough vitamins through diet. And secondary deficiency occurs when the amount of vitamins taken through diet is complete but our body fails to absorb them. This may be due to some disorder in the body. This disorder may occur due to unhealthy routines like smoking, drinking alcohol and taking medications that may interfere with the absorption of these vitamins. People who have a good diet containing a variety of vegetables and meat product have less chances of developing a vitamin deficiency in their body. But people who don’t have a balanced for a long time may develop vitamin deficiency in their body which can lead to dangerous and painful diseases. On the contrary large amount of vitamin in body or overdose also have shown side effects. A person is more likely to overdose vitamin through vitamin supplements rather than diet. These side effects can be removed by reducing the amount of vitamin supplement intake. Some of the symptoms of overdose include nausea and vomiting. The side effects are because of the tolerance to a specific vitamin differs from person to person.

Vitamin supplement vary from age groups and health conditions for example vitamin supplement for children adults and women are different even they are different for diabetic and people under stress. They are available in many forms such as tablets, liquids or bulk powder. Most common form is tablets. A person is required to take them more than one time a day. Now days there are modern multivitamins available in the market. All the brands have different composition of the vitamin. So now the consumer has a lot of choice there are supplement available with or without iron and also for diabetic. Mostly vitamins are different for each brand because of the price difference the cheaper supplements have less products in them.

If a person does not get the required amount of vitamin the deficiency is removed by giving him supplement that contains the vitamins. There are two different types of supplements available in the market. There is vitamin supplements made from artificial as well as supplement made from natural ingredient.  If an individual has an option they should opt for natural vitamins instead of artificial vitamins. Studies have proved that natural vitamins have prolonged effect as compared to artificial vitamins. Then why make artificial vitamins? Artificial vitamins are cheaper to produce.

Supplements are important for women who are pregnant or are planning to, they are also important for people who are exercising and for vegetarian who have no intake of meat. Supplements are also important for ladies who are less exposure to sunlight.
